1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MockJSON API ("the Service", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including free tier users, Pro subscribers, and visitors using our client-side JSON tools.

2. Description of Service

MockJSON API provides:

  • Instant mock JSON API endpoints (public and private) hosted on Cloudflare's edge network
  • Client-side JSON utilities: format, convert, diff, query, schema generation, and more
  • Dashboard for managing endpoints, API keys, versions, and usage analytics
  • VS Code extension for creating endpoints from your editor

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

3. Accounts & Registration

To create endpoints or access the dashboard, you must register an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your credentials and API keys
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate accounts at our discretion.

4. Free Tier & Pro Subscriptions

Free Tier

  • 1,000 requests/day per account
  • 100 KB max storage per bin

  • 7-day expiration/retention
  • Current version only (no version history)
  • Community support

Pro Subscription

  • Up to 1,000 bins
  • 100,000 requests/day
  • 5 MB max storage per bin
  • Private bins with granular API key permissions
  • Permanent retention (never expire)
  • Full version history up to 100 versions
  • Full API Write Access (POST, PUT, DELETE requests)
  • VS Code extension access
  • Priority email support

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via DODO Payments. Prices may change with 30 days' notice. We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on Pro plans.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Host or serve illegal, harmful, or infringing content
  • Distribute malware, phishing pages, or spam
  • Conduct load testing, benchmarking, or stress testing without written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or any technical measures
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without authorization
  • Use the Service for cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive activities
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks

We may monitor usage for abuse and reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating these terms.

6. Content & Data

Your Content

You retain ownership of JSON payloads and data you store ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and serve Your Content solely to provide the Service.

Our Content

The Service's code, design, trademarks, and documentation ("Our Content") are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms grant no rights to Our Content except as necessary to use the Service.

Public Endpoints

Free tier endpoints are publicly accessible. Do not store sensitive data (secrets, PII, credentials) in public endpoints. We are not liable for exposure of data you choose to make public.

7. Intellectual Property

"MockJSON API", our logo, and related branding are our trademarks. You may not use them without written permission. Our client-side tools' output (TypeScript interfaces, Go structs, etc.) is yours to use freely.

8. Service Level & Availability

We target 99.9% monthly uptime for Pro endpoints. Free tier endpoints have no SLA. Scheduled maintenance windows will be announced in advance. We are not liable for downtime caused by infrastructure or force majeure events.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES of MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or service interruption.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MockJSON API and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may cancel your account anytime from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for material breach, non-payment, or legal compliance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws without regard to conflict of laws principles.

14. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement.
  • Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
  • Waiver: Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.
  • Assignment: We may assign these Terms; you may not without consent.
